Kenneth E. Meek, 58, of Interlochen, Fl., died Sunday, November 30, 2008 in the Roberts Care Center at Palatka, Fl,.following a brief illness.A son of the late George S. Meek and Oshie Roupe Meek, Kenny was born December 5, 1949 at Dennison, Ohio and had attended Midvale high School. He was employed as a truck driver.Kenny was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Dover Aerie #515, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Interlochen Aerie # 3822, The New Philadelphia Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Uhrichsville Moose Lodge.He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and always participated in the poker runs to benefit Akron Childrens Hospital, Kenny also enjoyed NASCAR racing.He is survived by daughters, Heather (Timothy) Eckert, of Sandusky and Melissa (T.J.) Solomon, of New Philadelphia; a brother, William “Bill” Meek, of New Philadelphia; a sister, Joyce (Mark) Renicker, of Dover; grandchildren, Brett, Ashley and Katie Eckert, Spencer and Lake Kuczirka, Lance, Skilyer and Mystik Solomon; special friends, Gary and Nique Cavanaugh, of Interloken, Fl. and Sandy Tedrick, of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenny was anticipating the birth of his first great grandchild in March 2009.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Meek II, and brothers, Paul Joseph Meek and Bernard James Meek.Visitation will be Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Brian Flood will officiate a funeral service in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Following the service Kenny’s body will be cremated and his cremated remains inurned with his parents in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Those wishing to help Kenny’s family defray final expenses may make a memorial contribution to the Kenneth E.
