Kenneth D. Endlich, 79, Stone Creek, died Friday, December 24, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.A son of the late Gilbert and Minnie (Helmreich) Endlich, Kenneth was born on March 22, 1925, in Evans Creek and was a 1943 graduate of Stone Creek High School.He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a T-3 in Germany with the 10th Armored Combat Division during World War II. He was a recipient of the Infantryman Combat Badge, the American Defense and Campaign Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, European ME Campaign Ribbons, and the World War II Victory Medal. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he was employed at Marsh Lumber for 14 years, and for 23 years at Greer Steel in Dover.He was an active member of the Salem Evans Creek Lutheran Church where he was a former elder and Sunday School teacher, and was a life member of the Dover VFW Post # 3463 where he served on the house committee and as a member of the Color Guard and the Burial Squad. He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Jim) Karl of Dover; sons, Curly (Marie) Endlich of Stone Creek and Randy (Cathi) Endlich of Massillon; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Reta Harrison; and brothers, Walter (Ruth) Endlich and Paul Endlich.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth E. Ault Endlich, who died on June 9 of this year; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Becky Endlich; one grandson; brothers, Hugh and Ray Endlich; and sister, Leona Endlich.Visitation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia, on Monday evening, December 27, from 5 to 8 p.m and on Tuesday afternoon, December 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. On Tuesday at 2:00, immediately following visitation, funeral services will be held in the Geib Chapel with the Rev. Dr. William Haggis officiating. Burial will be at Stone Creek Cemetery, where military services will be conducted by the New Philadelphia VFW.Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Evans Creek Church, 9030 Deibel Road, Stone Creek, OH 43840.
