Kay Ann Paris-Lunsford, age 59, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover.A daughter of Cecilia Bianchi Paris and the late Victor E. Paris, Kay was born in Union Hospital at Dover on May 31, 1949.Kay was a 1967 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and IBM Business School. For more than thirty years she was a face that was well known throughout the community in the retail industry. From an early age Kay worked for a number of department stores that included the former Nichols Department Store and Phar-Mor at New Philadelphia. Kay loved those whom she came in contact with and truly enjoyed sharing stories and building relationships.Kay enjoyed her many passions that included family activities, baking, cooking, picnics, spending time at Tappan and Atwood Lakes and of course socializing. She was loved by her family for the time she shared laughing, reminiscing and planning for future get togethers. Her nieces and nephews will remember their hours visiting, driving her places and returning home with care packages of their favorite foods. She will be missed. Kay loved traveling, whether it included making a trip to Amish Country or vacationing near one of her favorite coastal beaches she found time to stop and collect figurines, music boxes, and crafts which she used to decorate her home.In the past number of years, Kay found enjoyment in making fleece blankets for friends and family and giving them as gifts. At last count, she had lovingly crafted more than two hundred blankets. She took an interest in shopping at various dollar stores where she met many friends and caught up on their lives.In addition to her mother, Kay will be missed by her family that includes her husband, Paul Lunsford, whom she married May 4, 1985; four sisters and a brother, Vicki (husband Frank) Fuerst of Dover, Edward (wife Ginny) Paris of Dover, Pamela (husband Craig) Beller of Dover, Yvonne Reed of New Philadelphia, and Kim (husband Mike) Maurer of Dover; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Frank and Pat Lunsford of Bolivar; two sisters-in-law, Pam Justice of Massillon, Pauline (husband Mark) Fenton of Dayton; and a brother-in-law, Dale Lunsford of Biloxi, Mississippi.Nieces and nephews, Melissa (husband Micah) Wissman, Tawnya Paris, Victor J. Paris, Natalie (husband Shane) Troyer, Carl Beller, Alex Reed, Matt Maurer, Tiffany Justice, J.J. Justice, nine great-nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends, complete the family. The family will receive friends in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, March 19, 2009, from 4:00 â?? 7:00 PM and again from 9:30 â?? 10:30 AM on Friday, March 20, 2009. Christian Wake Services will be at 6:45 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2009. Monsignor George J. Schlegel will lead a service celebrating Kay’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the services, the family would like to invite guests to join them in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, for a time of food and fellowship.Those unable to attend are invited to share personal condolences with the family by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Memorial contributions in Kay’s name may be sent to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
