Kathy Jane Wright

Kathy Jane Wright, 72, of Tuscarawas, passed away peacefully in her home following a courageous battle with brain cancer on September 13, 2024.

Born in Dennison on November 19, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Coleman Wallace and Jean Frances (Moyer) Wright. Throughout their lifetime, Kathy was an exceptional daughter and caregiver to her parents.

Kathy graduated from Indian Valley North High School in 1970, then continued her formal education at Kent State University. Professionally, she worked for numerous years with Job & Family Services as a supervisor until her early retirement to provide care to her ailing parents.

Kathy’s faith was nurtured at the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene throughout her lifetime. She was active in many facets of the church including serving as a Bible School teacher and treasurer.

Her most cherished pastime was traveling. Kathy saw much of the United States, and traveled throughout Europe and China, too. Most importantly, she was a loving aunt, daughter, and sister who treasured the times she was engaged with her family.

Kathy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Cindy Wright of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kathy's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Crossroads Hospice and nurses, Amanda and Carolyn. Also, to their lifelong friend, Gale Muckley, for her unwavering support, compassion care, and dedicated friendship to both Kathy and their entire family. 

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in passing by her siblings, Ruth Ann Wallace and Richard Wright.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
