Kathleen V. Ashkettle

Kathleen V. Ashkettle, 86, of Dover, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.A daughter of the late Wes and Clara (Clark) Vernon, Kathleen was born May 5, 1924 at Filbert, Pennsylvania.On September 27, 1941, Kathleen married Arthur L. Ashkettle and together they raised three sons, Delbert, Phillip and Russell. The couple shared 67 years of marriage prior to Arthur’s passing on May 16, 2009.Kathleen worked as a meat cutter for over thirty years. During that time she had worked for Gooding’s IGA and Twin City Meats.Kathleen enjoyed rock hunting, an activity she took part in with Arthur while living in New Mexico. She also enjoyed fishing and crocheting.She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Linda of Dover, Phillip and Sandy of Bonita Springs, Florida and Russell and Kathy of West Lafayette. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.Contributions may be made in Kathleen’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
