Kathleen Edie, 84, of New Philadelphia, died in her home on Thursday, January 6, 2005.Kathleen was born September 25, 1920, in Los Angeles, and moved to Dover, Ohio as a child. She was a 1940 graduate of Dover High School.On St. Valentine’s Day in 1946, she married Max Edie, and enjoyed her life as wife and mother. When her children were grown, she used her expert skills as a seamstress under the employ of John Wilcox at Wilcox Tailoring in downtown New Philadelphia. Following her retirement, she was able to devote herself more fully to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Kathleen was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, her daughters, Susan (Richard) Tillman of Fayetteville, NC and Belva (Steve) Watts of Orleans, Ontario, Canada; sons, Floyd Edie of New Philadelphia and Norman Edie of Wooster; brother, Robert Burson of Loudenville; sisters, Dixie (Joe) Incarnato of Dover, Irma (Ralph) Labus of New Philadelphia, and Sally(James) Stickley of San Diego, CA; her step-mother, Wilma Burson of Dover; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her step-father, John V. Burson.Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Christopher Rhodes of the Dover Baptist Temple on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia where the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Following the committal, a reception will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home.
