Katherine K. Miller

Katherine K. Miller, age 92, formerly of Sugarcreek and a resident of Walnut Hills Retirement Home, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at the Joel Pomerene Medical Center in Millersburg.Born December 31, 1910 in Start County, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Keturah Nichols Adams. She worked for many years at the Sugarlane IGA, and also at the Walnut Hills Nursing Home for five years. She was a faithful member of the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek for many years, where she was a member of the women’s quilting guild, and she was a member of the American Legion Auxillary.Surviving are:1 son, Mr. Billy Lorenz of Dover2 daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Lois) Mason of Dover and Mrs. Charles (Linda) Sigrist of Winesburg9 Granchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren1 sister, Mrs. Arlene Harmon of NavarreIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Lorenz, who passed away in 1936 and her second husband, Arthur C. Miller, who passed away in 1983. Also preceding her are one son, Walter Lorenz, four brothers, and one sister.In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2003 at the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek at 11:00 AM with Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Calling hours will be an hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at a later time. Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek.
