Karen S. Swonger, age 62, of Strasburg, passed away in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 after a brief illness.
Karen was born on December 26, 1962 in Canton to the late Paul and Shirley (Shackle) Slutz.
On June 10, 1998, she married Bryan Swonger, and together they have enjoyed 26 years of marriage.
Karen was a dedicated nursing assistant for over 30 years. She was known as a caregiver who had a big heart and always gave all she could to her patients. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was an avid shopper. However, her greatest joy was being a mom and grandma. She was always known to make large meals for all the family get togethers.
She is survived by her husband, Bryan Swonger of Strasburg; daughter, Shirley (Dan) Porter of Dover; sons, Stephen Limron of Springfield, Missouri, and Doug (Allyse) Swonger of Beach City; grandchildren, Madison Wright, Scarlett Porter, Ty Porter, Karter Limron, River Limron, Vaida Limron, and Toula Limron; nine brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes cremation care has been entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. No services are planned at this time.
