Karen Sue (Sanders) Spencer, 62, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004 at Union Hospital in Dover.Born on July 11, 1942 in Dover, Karen was the only child of the late George and Geraldine Joan (Rosenberry) Sanders.She was a 1960 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She was formerly employed by Montgomery Ward, Edward D. Jones and the Tupperware Company in which she hosted home parties.On July 1, 1962, she married Glen E. Spencer who survives.Karen was an avid lover of people and a friend to all. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. They spent days and nights together playing, camping, going to baseball games, baking cookies and watching movies.She was also a loving babysitter and has touched the lives of many area children.Karen is survived by her loving husband Glen, of which she celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage; two daughters, Renee Lynn Spencer of New Philadelphia and Lisa (Craig) Speicher of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Brady Wayne Speicher, Peyton William Speicher and Sydney Reese Speicher; and Glen’s sisters, Shirley (Don) Smith of Dover and Linda (John) Feutz of Dover.In addition to family, Karen is survived by a multitude of friends, most of which were friends since grade school.She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, George William Spencer.Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Mark Trotter on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park. A reception will be held at the Geib Family Center following the committal.Memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W.
