Karen “Sue” Hizer

Karen “Sue” Hizer, age 65, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, August 19, 2016 in University Hospital at Cleveland, Ohio.

A daughter of the late Arby and Alice (Taylor) Hizer, Sue was born September 4, 1950 at Layland, West Virginia.

Sue graduated from Uhrichsville High School and then went on to retire from Miller’s Studio, after working there for many years. She loved all types of art and enjoyed sharing her talent with her family and friends. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family. Sue especially enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her great nieces and nephews.

Sue is survived by her sister, Phyllis (Joe) Verhovec; a sister-in-law, Hazel Hizer; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her close friend, Kathy Searle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four siblings, James Allen Hizer, Arby Lewis Hizer, Delores Alafair Morten, and Alice Ann Jones.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10 to 11AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
