Karen Medley

Karen Jane (Moreland) Medley, 73, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Hennis Care Center at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Donald T. Moreland Sr. and the late Georgia M. (Smith) Felgenhauer, Karen was born March 21, 1945 at Canton, Ohio.

Karen was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and was an active volunteer for Community Hospice Browse & Buy and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting and would donate the various items to Community Hospice and nursing homes.

She is survived by her children, Duglas Medley of Cleveland and Kim (Steve) Pearch, Cyndy (Steve) Kilpatrick and Darla (Ed) Kilpatrick all of New Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (John Lee) Easterday of Dover; a brother, Donald Moreland Jr. of Dennison; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Medley Jr.; a grandson, Andrew Duglas; a niece, Kathy Warner; and her beloved pet dog, Brandi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10 to 12 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Karen’s life will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home with Todd Gopp officiating. Burial will follow in Leavittsville Cemetery.
