Junior “Jack” L. Legg, 71, of 135 Buckeye St. Sugarcreek, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 3:10 PM in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a sudden stroke he suffered at home on Friday.Born April 30, 1931 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Clarence and Ella Russell Legg.He was employed at Leff Electric (formerly Slaser and Leiser) of New Philadelphia for 28 years and Nichols Bakery at Navarre for 19 years.He was a member of Union Hill United Methodist Church at Sugarcreek and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.Junior is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Wehr, whom he married December 26, 1974.Also surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Long of Gnadenhutten, Mrs. David (Sue) Rusk of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Jeff (Gayle) Underwood of Gnadenhutten, and Mrs. Kenneth (Lynda) Hendrix of Gnadenhutten; three sons, Paul (Samantha) Legg of Holmesworth, Ohio, Jack Legg of Uhrichsville, Jack Legg of Uhrichsville, and Kelly (Wanda) Legg of Uhrichsville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Laura Lackey of Sherrodsville; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Niles (Treva) Urfer of New Philadelphia; and three brothers, James Legg of Panama City, Florida, Don Legg of Dennison, and Dean Legg of Huma, Louisiana.Two half-brothers, Bob Russell and Bill Mills, one half-sister, Donna Swisshelm, one grandson, Kelly Russell, and one son-in-law, Paul Lackey, are deceased.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 11:00 AM in the Smith-Geib Funeral Home at Sugarcreek. Rev. Karl Kandel will officiate and burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Union Hill United Methodist Church at Sugarcreek.
