Junior D. McWilliams, age 80, of Uhrichsville, passed away July 5, 2007, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born June 1, 1927, Junior was a son of the late Raymond C. and Lillie (Pittman) McWilliams.Junior was an Army-Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.He was employed as an electrician for Frank Johnson Electric for 37 years. Previously he was employed at East Sparta Tile Company.Junior was a life-time member of the NRA and several hunting clubs including the B & A Primitive Weapons Club. He was a hunting and fishing guide at O’Sullivan Lake in Canada for 16 years. He loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Arlene McWilliams, of Uhrichsville, whom he married December 12, 1994. Also surviving are sons Ray McWilliams of Strasburg, and Danny McWilliams of New Philadelphia; daughters Patricia (Don)Liggett of Dover, Penny (Joe) Holder and Kathy McWilliams, both of Alabama; step-daughters Mary Jo Conley of Uhrichsville and Diana Hunter of Dover. Grandchildren include Stephanie (Joey) Miller and Bryan Gray of Strasburg, Randy, Mike, Roger and Kevin Pershing, Bobby Cool of Alabama, Jonathon Delbert of Alabama, Rachel, Leona and Shawn Conley, Patty and Ray Thompson, Angie, Sherry, Laura and Richard Thompson and fifteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Ronnie (Mary) McWilliams, sisters Ella Mae Marr, Doris (Rich) Kugler, Nancy (Dave) Kohler, Bonnie (Dick) Zavasky and several nieces and nephews who complete the family. Junior was preceded in death by his parents; first wife the former Elfrieda Nossenral ; his second wife, the former Donna Schultz; brother Lloyd McWilliams; step-son Steven Thompson; and daughter-in-law Bonnie McWilliams.Friends are invited to call Sunday from 2-4 and from 6-8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The Rev. Gary Friend will lead the McWilliams funeral Monday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial, with military honors conducted by the New Philadelphia VFW, will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Following the committal service, a reception will be given for family and friends in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home in New Philadelphia.
