June I. Fontana Lorenz

June I. Fontana Lorenz, 95, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Albert L. and Cora B. (Haines) Anderson, June was born on June 8, 1918 in Flushing, Ohio.

June spent her time cooking, baking pies, and reading. Caring for her family was her priority in life.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Arlene) Fontana of New Philadelphia and Tom Lorenz of Dover; a daughter, Inez (John) Durbin of Fairfield, California; four grandchildren, Rick Fontana, Kevin Durbin, Sam Lorenz, and Kim Durbin; 6 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and one expected in June; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her first husband, Serafine “Barney” Fontana; her second husband, Earl E. Lorenz; a brother, Fred L. Anderson; two sisters, Deloris Gardner Stevens and Marjorie Johnson; and grandchildren Lisa Fontana and Douglas Fontana.

A memorial service celebrating June’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. A meal will be shared in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, following the memorial service.
Private inurnment will take place at Rockhill Cemetery in Flushing, Ohio.
