June S. Herzog

June S. Herzog, 96, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Community Hospice-Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Steven Mihaleck and Hazel (Engel) Mihaleck-Deeken. Early in her adult life, June worked for the former Yum-Yum Potato Chip Company before becoming a homemaker and raising her two sons. She had formerly attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia and loved to crochet and knit.

June is survived by her son, Robert Doby of New Philadelphia; her granddaughter, Michelle Doby-Henley and her companion, Terry Hamilton of Port Washington; her grandson, John (Raina) Doby of Columbus; six Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, James P. “Mort” Herzog; her son, John J. Doby, her step-father, Joseph Deeken and three brothers.

In keeping with her wishes, June is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private burial, beside her husband, will take place in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
