June E. Swinderman, 81, of Gnadenhutten, passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House on May 14, 2022, following a 1-year battle with cancer.
Born in Salesville, Ohio on December 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Manley T. and Florence G. (Ruby) Hayes. After completing her formal education, June worked with several companies before joining Davis & Associates as a secretary.
June was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia where she served in several aspects of the church. She was also a supporter of Chaplain Richard and Chrissy Wiese.
Additionally, June was a talented sewer, gardener, and loved supporting her grandchildren.
On September 4, 1971, she married George A. Swinderman who survives. She will also be deeply missed by her daughters, Kim (Byron) Hughes and Sandy (Keith) Addy, both of Gnadenhutten; grandchildren, Isaac and Blake Addy and Seth and Gabriella Hughes; her brother, Richard (Faye) Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, 1507 Oldtown Valley Rd SE, New Philadelphia. Pastor Don Snow will officiate a funeral in the church on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery.
