Julie Anne Lab, 41, of New Philadelphia, was carried to heaven in the arms of angels Friday, July 18, 2008 from the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.A daughter of Norma Leggett and the late Joseph Jerome Lab, Julie was born July 22, 1966 at Mansfield, O. She moved to New Philadelphia with her family in 1975.She was a 1984 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School and a 1992 graduate of the Mansfield Business College. She had been employed by Dee’s Restaurant of New Philadelphia.Julie attended Sacred Heart Church, was a member of the Dover Army-Navy, and the YMCA, volunteered as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer and along with her mother, delivered mobile meals. She loved and enjoyed animals including her birds, guinea pigs and cat, Toddy.Julie will be remembered for her bright smile and honest and friendly personality. She considered everyone she knew to be her friend and was always available to help when asked. She loved her family and was especially proud of her niece and nephew.She is survived by her mother and step father, Norma and Don Leggett, of New Philadelphia; her sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Tom Swisshelm, of Stone Creek; a niece, Megan (Bryan) Farver, of Baltic; a nephew, Nathan Swisshelm, of Stone Creek; her great friends, Alicia Johnson, of New Philadelphia and Jean Allison, of Dover and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Marjorie Snyder; her paternal grandparents, Jerome and Pauline Lab; aunt, Dolores Snyder; uncle Jerry Huff and cousin, Bob Espenschied.Visitation will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia were a Christian Wake service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Msgr. George Schlegel will celebrate a funeral mass for Julie on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Dover Burial Park.
