Julia Gundy

Julia Gundy, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover, O.A daughter of the late John and Mary Paulenda Pisony, Julia was born August 26, 1916 in Roswell Ohio. She married her late husband Lewis Gundy on Nov 27, 1933 in West Virginia.Julia and her husband lived on a farm on the south side of New Phila for most of their working years. Here she spent many hours sewing for her family, a past time she truly loved. Julia also was a 4-H co-advisor for the Oldtowne Sewing Sisters. She was employed as a press operator for Zimmer Orthopedic and Surgical products the former Snyder Manufacturing Co. from 1956 to 1982 .She is survived by two daughters, Juanita “Nita” (Paul) Graff of New Philadelphia, and Loretta Burkey of Dover; one son, Richard Gundy and his fiancé Toni Torres of Buena Park California; six grandchildren, Paula (John) Cush of Bolivar, Cindy (Kevin) Case of New Phila., Scott (Peggy) Graff of Columbus, Jeff (Sherri) Grages, of Virginia, Connie Reichman and Lori (James) Patterson, both of Florida; 16 great-grandchildren, including Jonathan, David, Michael, Gregory and Erik Cush of Bolivar and Michael and Jennifer Case of New Phila; one sister, Esther (Jack) Beans of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Joe (Deloris) Pisony and Albert (Virginia) Pisony, both of New Philadelphia.In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Debra Graff Abel; six sisters, Helen Wallace, Betty Brown, Mary Bartek, Anna Ricklic, Cecilia Edwards and Margaret Pisony; one brother, John Pisony.Visitation will be Wednesday Nov. 2, 2005 from 4:30 to 7:30p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Sowers officiating.
