Judith L. Wright, age 75, of Newcomerstown, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia, following a two year illness.
Born at Coshocton, Ohio, on November 17, 1939, Judy, as she was known to family and friends, was a daughter of the late Marshall “Mike” and Verna (Wilson) Jennings.
Judy was a 1957 graduate of Coshocton High School and on January 16, 1959, she married the love of her life, Richard “R.J.” Wright. Together the couple raised three children and built their family business, from a one man operation with the former Standard Oil Company. Today, the company is known as R.J. Wright and Sons, Ltd. and is operated by the couple’s sons. During her tenure with the family firm, Judy was charged with keeping the company’s books and maintaining the household duties.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend who put her own needs and desires aside to help anyone in need. Judy’s caring and giving nature was derived from her own mother and has become an admired trait among her own family.
In her free time, Judy loved quilting and sewing. She also loved pampering her grandchildren, and taking care of animals. Through the years, she and R.J. enjoyed several vacations together that included trips to various areas of Mexico and Europe, which they were able attend through the World Class Performers Group of BP. Most recently, however, her favorite trip was one she took with her family as they gathered together on the beaches of Atlantic City and spent time sharing in one another’s company.
In addition to her husband of nearly 56 years, Judy will be deeply missed by her children, Rick (Linda) Wright of West Lafayette, Jodi Lyn (Mitch) Bricker of Newcomerstown, and Ben (Denise) Wright of West Lafayette; and a sister, Betty Jo Holmes of Coshocton.
Completing the family are her loving grandchildren, Caine (Rachel) Bricker, Andy (Hannah) Wright, Tiff (companion, Conner Quillen) Wright, and Whit Wright; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Brittnay and Caidee Bricker, Trent Wright, Jayce Rine and Grayson Hunt.
In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no public services or visitations with cremation taking place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
