Judith “Judy” Louise Hawthorne, 63, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her residence after a nine year battle with cancer.A daughter of Doris (Wilkenson) Trueblood and the late Raymond Vierheller, Judy was born March 6, 1943 in Dennison, Ohio.She was employed by Odd Lots and prior to that, she had worked at the former Rinks store. Judy had many interests especially crocheting, crafts and painting.In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Donald D. Hawthorne, Sr whom she married on January 16, 1960; children, Lori (Pat) McBride of Beach City, Donald D. (Andrea) Hawthorne, Jr. of Coshocton, Jeffery James (special friend Rena Schmitz) Hawthorne of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Christopher Eggerton of Wooster, Scott Eggerton of Strasburg, Jennifer Sica of New Philadelphia, Hayley McBride of Beach City, Brittany Hawthorne of New Philadelphia, Bronson Hawthorne of New Philadelphia, Grace Hawthorne of Coshocton; great-grandchildren, Lily, Cameron, Cash, Maya and Scotty; brothers, Thomas and David Vierheller; numerous nieces and nephews and three special caretakers from Hospice of Tuscarawas County, Karen, Linda and Kathy. Judith was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Danny Vierheller.Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no service and cremation will take place following the visitation.Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
