Judith C. Scott, 61, of Stone Creek, Ohio went to be with the Lord Friday morning, August 22, 2008 after a long courageous battle. A daughter of the late Harrison and Ruth (Witwer) Doll, Judy was born July 19, 1947 at Dover, Ohio. She was beloved by her husband of 39 years, Chuck, and children, Greg (Monica) Scott and Kristie (Jeff) Lillibridge. Judy was a grandmother to Benjamin and Katelynn Scott and loved to spend time with them. She was a sister to Phyllis (Wilmer) Bryan and an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She put her family first behind God in everything that she did.In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Doll. She was a 1965 graduate of Stone Creek High School. Judy and Chuck attended all twelve grades together. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University in 1969. They married on July 5, 1969, the weekend known for the huge flood. Those who had the privilege of knowing Judy knew first hand her endless energy to help others above herself. Judy spent hours in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family and for others. She often took food to those that needed a comforting meal and a visit from a friend. She did not do this out of a need to be thanked but because of her selfless spirit. Judy spent many years collecting genealogy information about her family and would visit relatives to gather this information. Having gone to college to become a Home Economics teacher, she also sewed extensively. Legend has it that she stayed up the night before her own wedding to finish sewing her gown. Judy always put others’ needs above her own and was known for her extensive organizational skills, a trait that often was joked about with her family. She was also avidly involved in working in the Fair Board Office, working on the Election Board for Jefferson Township, working at Yaggi’s Cheese House during the busy Christmas season and substitute teaching at NPHS. Judy devoted her life to God and this was evident in her time spent at Zion Lutheran Church in Stone Creek. She would actively work on projects at the church including organizing the Spaghetti Supper, Shrove Tuesday dinner and helping keep the outside of the church beautiful on work days. She volunteered in many groups including the Stone Creek Sirens. In 2006 Judy and Chuck received the Honorary Citizens Award for the Stone Creek Community.Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Judy’s life will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Stone Creek with Rev. William C. Haggis officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery. Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view an online memorial by visiting the funeral home website. The family suggests that contributions may be made in Judith’s memory to Zion Lutheran Church, P.O.
