Judith Ann Dollar

Judith Ann Dollar, age 69, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, March 28, 2009, in Amberwood Manor, following a brief illness. Born at Royal Oak, Michigan, July 31, 1939, Judith was a daughter of the late Leroy K. and Alberta C. Caldwell Henderson. Best known as Judy to her family and friends, she attended New Philadelphia High School before going to work as a waitress and bartender at the former Kramer’s, The Corner Grill, The Chatterbox Café, The Hi Spot, The Tally-Ho Pub, and The Canal Lounge. She’ll be remembered for her strong willed, spunky demeanor, for her love of the game of Bingo, and for her fondness for her grandchildren. Judy leaves behind a family that includes her husband, Clifford Dollar of New Philadelphia. The couple wed August 28, 1980 in Virginia. Three children; Robert (wife Leota M.) Hadley of Strasburg, Rebecca Jo (husband Douglas) Hart of Gnadenhutten, and Mark Alan (wife Cindy) Seevers of Midvale, as well as three step-children; Denise (husband Gary) Dawkins of Seville, OH, Patrick Dollar of Chippewa Lake, OH, and Lisa (husband Michael) Maletz of West Salem, OH, also survive.A sister, Madelyn Sprankle of New Philadelphia, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, (with one additional great-grandchild on the way) five step grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and three nephews complete the family. Friends are invited to call Tuesday afternoon, March 31, from 1-2 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Elder Bruce Levengood will lead services celebrating Judith’s life at 2 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Jewett. Those unable to attend are invited to share memories and condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s website.
