Juanita Mae “Nan” Peoples, age 75, of Tuscarawas, died Saturday, February 8, 2003, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancerShe was born June 3, 1927, in Allegheny County Pennsylvania to the late Joseph H. and Fluda M. Walls Blankenship. Juanita spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also worked for several years as a cook for the former Indian Valley North Elementary School. Juanita and Doyle used their home as the Tusky Youth Center for all the neighborhood children.Juanita was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia where she served as a Faith in Action Home Visitor and was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class.Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Doyle Charles Peoples, of the home, whom she married April 22, 1943; two sons, Charles D. (Brenda) Peoples of Tuscarawas and Joseph F. Peoples of New Philadelphia; two daughters, Patricia J. (John A.) Moore of Tuscarawas and Bunita A. (John E.) Maurer ofTuscarawsas; nine precious grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a very special relative, Susan (Rich) Jones of Newark.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two half-sisters and a half brother.Calling hours will be held Monday, February 10, 2003, from 5-8 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held Tueday, February 11, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Shedlock and Rev. Jonathan McCleery officiating.
