Joyce Anderson

Joyce Anderson, of Hennis Care Center at Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, July 05, 2012, in Union Hospital at Dover just days following her 92nd birthday celebration with her family.

A daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Jones) Hague, Joyce was born at Liverpool, England on July 1, 1920.

She was a 1938 graduate of Dover High School and was employed by Barr Drug Store at Dover prior to joining Bank One where she worked as an Executive Secretary.

Joyce was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church at Dover as well as the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Christian Conservation League and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William “Jeff” and Katherine “Kathy” Anderson of New Philadelphia; two grandsons, William “Bill” (Tanya) Anderson and Christopher “Chris” (Samantha) Anderson, and a great-granddaughter, Hope A. Anderson all of Dover.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Anderson whom she married on November 4, 1945 and celebrated nearly 51 years of marriage prior to his death on September 24, 1996.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Bill Haggis will lead a funeral service celebrating Joyce’s life at 11 AM. Burial in the Dover Burial Park will follow.

The family would like to express a personal thank you to the staff of Hennis Care Center, the Homestead Staff, especially Tiffany, Bonnie and Janice as well as to Union Hospital, Dr. Lehman, Dr. McCombs and nurses Darcy and Ashley for their attentive care and compassion toward Joyce and her family.
