Josephine Grace Lintner, age 90, of Gnadenhutten, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Packer) Mishler, Josephine was born at Rush Township, Ohio on May 22, 1922.
She was a graduate of the former Gnadenhutten High School and worked for more than 30 years as a teller at the former Gnadenhutten Bank.
Josephine was an active member of the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church and through the years was involved with Women’s Society and the Gleaners Sunday Class. She was also a member of the Gnadenhutten Women’s Club, where she enjoyed attending the monthly meetings and socializing with others. Her other social activities included monthly luncheons with the ladies of Card Club.
Josephine enjoyed driving her Mini Cooper, playing bingo and making trips to the casinos, where she could usually be found playing slots. Additionally, she was an avid reader and enjoyed the time spent with her family and grandchildren.
She will be missed by two daughters, Marcia Lautzenheiser of New Philadelphia and Melinda (James) Marley of Vero Beach, Florida; a son, Leonard C. (Linda De Lorenzo) Lintner of Duxbury, Massachusetts; a sister, Verna Steinbauch of Wintersville, Ohio; and a brother, Vernon (Helen) Mishler of Uhrichsville.
Five grandchildren, Betsy Lautzenheiser of New Philadelphia, Donnie Lautzenheiser of Detroit, Michigan, Nick (Marissa Geib) Lautzenheiser of Mineral City, Stephen (Kristy) Fairman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Elizabeth (Christopher) Fairman-Locke of Austin, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Josephine Fairman; and numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Lintner, who died on March 22, 1986.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Gregg Kelly will lead a service celebrating Josephine’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Burial alongside her husband will follow in the Gnadenhutten Clay-Union Cemetery. Following services, all are invited to join the family in the social hall of the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church for a meal and fellowship.
