Joseph “Ron” Ronald Althouse

Joseph Ronald Althouse, 71, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Downingtown, PA, passed away in his home December 22, 2014.

Born in Coatsville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Walters) Althouse.
Early in his adulthood, he enjoyed deep sea fishing off the Jersey Shore and metal detecting. In his later years, he was an avid collector of M&Ms and beanie babies. Ron also enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions.

He is survived by his wife the former Brenda Scott of New Philadelphia; three daughters, Kathy (Bill) Dykes, Rhonda (Steve) Estep, and Roxanne DiRocco; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and his sister, Jeanie (Rick) Saha; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

No public visitation or services are scheduled. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover.
