Joseph L. Pauline, 77, of Dover died peacefully, Sunday, December 11, 2016 while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.
A son of the late Joseph L. Pauline, Sr. and Mary Skelly Pauline, Joe was born at Midvale on April 23, 1939.
He was a 1957 graduate of the former St. Joseph High School at Dover and was employed by Ruhlin Construction as a job foreman and later transitioned to Central Catholic High School, where he was a beloved staff member and custodian for many years.
Joe was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed keeping his lawn perfectly manicured and spending time gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Sondra Pauline, their children, Mike (Rose) Gintz of Mineral City, Lisa and Kent Penso, Rick Pauline, and Brenton “B.J.” (companion, Erin Schilling) Pauline all of Dover; three sisters, Frances Brown of CA, Angie Beans of SC, and Veronica (Wayne) Cunningham of New Philadelphia. Completing the family are 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son, Tim Gintz; a brother, Chuck Pauline; and two sisters, Mary Ann Altier and Marcella Pauline.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, private services will take place with inurnment in the Dover Burial Park. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
The family requests memorial contributions in Joe’s name be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
