Johnny L. Woods

Johnny L. Woods, Sr. age 46, of Wainwright, died Monday, August 11, 2014 in Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.

A son of James and Betty (Eichel) Nealey of Midvale, Johnny was born at Ellwood City, Pennsylvania on February 6, 1968.

He attended New Philadelphia High School and for many years worked as a skilled laborer for several area firms as well as independently. Johnny loved being around his family and when with them he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and caring for his Tennessee Walker horses.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is survived by his children, Johnny L. (Tonya) Jr. of New Philadelphia, Christopher Woods of Tuscarawas and Reessea Woods of Bolivar; grandchildren, Savanah Woods, Shania Woods and Spencer Haney and a great-granddaughter, Lillie Clark.

Johnny will also be missed by his companion, Deb Swaldo of Wainwright, her daughters, Ashley and Amanda and granddaughter, Hannah.

Completing the family are siblings, Chuck (Lori) Woods, Tom (Bev) Woods, Betty (Bill) Wardell, Deb (Mark) Meadows, Gloria (Kenny) Woods, numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

In keeping with Johnny’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care has been conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. A private service celebrating Johnny’s life will be held at a later date.
