John W. Demuth

John W. Demuth, age 50, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at Union Hospital in Dover.Born December 25, 1951 in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of John R. “Dick” Demuth of New Philadelphia and the late Mildred (Sever) Demuth who died in 1994. John was a 1970 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, and he also had attended Ohio State University and Kent State University. He was the owner and operator of Landscaping and Reclamation Inc. and Goshen Construction. John was a member of Sacred Heart Church of New Philadelphia; member and past president of the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society (Fair Board); and served on numerous Co-op Extension Boards.Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Montan Demuth, whom he married on July 29, 1978; a daughter and two sons, Diana L., David R. and Adam R. Demuth, all of the residence; four sisters, Marcia Demuth and Dana (Richard) Hostetler, both of New Philadelphia, and Nancy (Scott) McDaniels of Marion, and Carol (Robert) Paulenske of Westlake; two brothers, James (Molly) Demuth and Robert (Susan) Demuth, both of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven W. Demuth. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, New Philadelphia. Msgr. George J. Schlegel will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, any time after 2 PM with the family present 5-8 PM at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. A Christian Wake Service will be held Wednesday at 8 PM.
