John S. Moore

John S. Moore age 79 of Tuscarawas O., formerly of Ocala, Florida, died Thursday night December 16, 2004 at his son’s home in Tuscarawas O. A son of the late Marion S. and Mary Hines Moore, he was born August 20, 1925, in Uhrichsville, O.John attended Uhrichsville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving as a Seaman 1st Class and receiving an honorable discharge in April, 1946. After the service, he returned to Tuscarawas and purchased a small business which became Moore’s Plumbing and Electrical Supply. He married Mary H. Dickerson on April 25, 1961 and, after the sale of the business, worked for the M.W.C.D in the maintenance department. He moved to Ocala, Florida in 1972.He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1578 in Eustis Fl., Moose Lodge #766 in Orlando, Fl, Masonic Lodge Marion-Dunn #19 in Ocala, VFW Post #4209 in Ocala, American Legion Post #0400 in Ocala, US Navy Armed Guard National Organization,US Amateur Ballroom Dancers Assoc. Chapter #627 in Ocala, and the Independent Order of Foresters.In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, John A. (Pat) Moore of Tuscarawas; and two daughters, Sherry (Ron) Miller of Manning S.C. and Laurie (John) Haney of Wainwright. In addition, he is survived by eight grand children and 13 great grandchildren.There will be no calling hours or public services.
