John Michael Granato, 50 of Las Vegas, Nevada, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
A son of Tom (Bonni) Granato and Dianna Vought Espenschied, John was born at Dover, Ohio on October 9, 1966.
He was a 1985 graduate of Dover High School and a member of the Dover Marching Tornadoes. While in school, he was nominated to attend Buckeye Boys State. He furthered his education at the College of Wooster, where he studied Electrical Engineering and graduated in 1989.
While John grew up in Dover, he later moved to Columbus, Oh and ultimately made Las Vegas, Nevada his home. He was employed by many insurance companies and most recently was employed by the Hard Rock Casino, Las Vegas. John also spent a summer teaching classes at Boston College.
Family was everything to John and he will be remembered by those who knew him as a person who was full of life. He also loved playing board games and rarely missed an opportunity to play a joke on an unsuspecting individual.
In addition to his parents, John will be deeply missed by his daughter, Brooklyn Granato; his brothers, Rob Granato and Scott (Susan) Granato; a step-son, Devin Armstrong; his former wife, Yolanda Armstrong and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dominic and Lucille Granato and Art and Mary Vought and his stepdad, Gene Espenschied.
A memorial service, led by Pastor Larry Fletcher, will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1 PM in LifeWay Church, 742 Commercial Avenue SE, New Philadelphia. The Family will greet guests at the church one hour prior to services from Noon – 1 PM.
