John Crowl

John Crowl, 67 of Morton, Illinois, formerly of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Thursday, July 18, 2002 in his home.Born March 30, 1935 in Dover, OH, he was a son of the late Clifford C. and Jeannette Pearch Crowl. A 1951 graduate of Dover High School and a 1957 graduate of Ohio University, John served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. Following his tour of duty, he worked as a statistician for various insurance companies throughout his career before retiring in 2000 from R.L.I. in Peoria, IL.John is survived by his wife, Janice Chapman Crowl, daughter, Kelly Crowl of Morton, IL; a son, John D. (Shawn) Crowl of LaGrange. IL; and four grandchildren, Katie, Jake, Kevin and Karli Crowl. In addition to his parents, his brother James Crowl preceded John in death in 1991. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, 116 Second Street NE New Philadelphia, OH, with Rev. Terry Downin of Jerusalem Church officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in New Philadelphia, OH. The family will host a gathering for family and friends in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, following the committal service.
