John C. Kissel, III, age 47, of Newcomerstown, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Union Hospital at Dover following a courageous battle with cancer.A son of John C. Kissel, and his companion Judy West, and Sandra (Bean) Olinger and her husband, Chuck, John was born at Coshocton, Ohio on January 23, 1963.John was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School and would go on to become a co-owner of J & J Cores at Newcomerstown.Being out of door, enjoying Harley Motorcycles and dirt biking were a few of John’s favorite pastimes and he had found great companionship with his canine friend Clarabel.In addition to his parents, John is survived by the mother of his children, Laurel Kissel, of Newcomerstown; his three children, Keelyne, Nash, and Ryker all of the home; a sister, Shelly (Richard) Lehman; and his maternal grandmother, Donna Bean all of New Philadelphia.One niece and one nephew as well a numerous aunts and uncles complete the family.John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John C. and Sarah Kissel and his maternal grandfather, Clyde Tom Bean.A previously planned benefit on Sunday, January 31, 2010, from 4:00 Â? 7:00PM will offer a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate John’s life in Christ United Methodist Church at Newcomerstown. In keeping with his wishes, John will be cremated through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the John C. Kissel Benefit Fund c/o any Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union location or to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
