Jody L. Carr, 57, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on November 28, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Dover on June 10, 1958, she was the daughter of Laverne E. McKean and the late Jack L. McKean.
After completing her formal education at Indian Valley North High School, she married her lifelong companion and soulmate, Lloyd A. Carr on June 5, 1976. Together, they enjoyed life, whether it was taking long vacations on their Harleys, spending time with their family, or collecting and selling Primitives and Antiques.
Jody was loved by her clients and thousands of Facebook fans on her Little Gray Barn page. At The Little Gray Barn, she developed many friendships throughout the past 5 years selling her treasures and truly loved each one of her followers.
Her professional career spanned a number of years working as a purchasing agent with Barmet for 10 years, a number of years with her dad at Jack McKean Insurance Agency, and then with her passion at The Little Gray Barn.
Jody and Lloyd also worshiped at Sharon Moravian Church throughout their numerous years living near the church.
Jody was adored and treasured by her entire family including her husband, Lloyd, of New Philadelphia; her mother, Laverne McKean of New Philadelphia; her children, Brenton (Jen) Carr of Stonecreek, Darcie Carr of Barnhill, and Sean Carr of Uhrichsville; her brother, John (Melonie) McKean of New Philadelphia; her grandson, Lukas Schrump; her step-granddaughter, Kylee Ervin; in addition to numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack; and her brother, Edward McKean.
A private family service is scheduled for a later date.
