Joanne Page, 83, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, September 23, 2013 in her home following a courageous nine month battle with cancer.
A daughter of the late Claude Wiltshire and the late Georgia (Sprowl) Wiltshire Sampsel, Joanne was born November 24, 1929 at Canton, Ohio.
Joanne was employed at Ceramic Tile and Alsco until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and watching television. Most of all she cherished her family and the time spent with them.
She is survived by her five daughters, Connie (Dwain) Colvin of Dover, Sally Jo (Tim) Polen of Massillon, Candy (Rick) Reis of Benezette, Pennsylvania, Deanna Johnson of Wildwood, Florida and Bonnie Corbett of Strasburg; a son, Rick (Holly) Flickinger of Port Washington; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two brothers, Bernard Sampsel of Mineral City and David Sampsel of Uhrichsville.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, La Verne “Poncho” Page; her sons, Jerry and Timothy Flickinger; grandsons, Ricky Flickinger and Nevin Colvin; twin great granddaughters, Alexandra and Gabriela Colvin and her brothers, Raymond, Richard and Robert Wiltshire and Jim Sampsel.
In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
