Joann Fabiano, age 72, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully late Wednesday afternoon in Schoenbrunn Health Care Center at New Philadelphia. Born at Roswell, December 17, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Roberta Croy Fabiano. As a young lady, Joann attended school at Roswell and Dennison before graduating in 1952. Throughout most her life, Joann was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the former St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at Roswell. Early in her career, Joann worked as a caregiver at the former Tucarawas County children’s home. She also was affiliated with Union Hospital where she worked as a nurses’ aid. Ultimately, she retired from the Tucarawas County Public Library more than a decade ago. Joann’s family includes her son, Jon (wife Ronda) Fabiano of Defiance, Ohio, three grandchildren; Chelsea, Nicholas and Gabrielle all of Defiance, a sister; Nancy (husband Gale) Fait, a brother; Frank Fabiano Jr., and a brother-in-law, Robert G. Graham, all of New Philadelphia. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth A. Graham in 2005. Friends are invited to call Monday, May 7, from 2-4 PM and from 6-9PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The Monsignor George J. Schlegel, and Father Martin Ralko will concelebrate Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia. The Fabiano family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 1131 Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
