JoAnn Elaine Lehman, 82, of West Lafayette, died Monday, January 2, 2017 in Lafayette Pointe following complications from surgery.
A daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Honabarger) Ott, JoAnn was born March 20, 1934 at Baltic, Ohio.
JoAnn graduated from Baltic High School in 1952. On September 18, 1954, she married John Theodore “Ted” Lehman and they raised one daughter, Debbie. The couple shared 56 years of marriage prior to Ted’s passing on February 25, 2011.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ at Baltic. JoAnn operated her own cleaning business which would often lead to acts of generosity when caring for the homes of the ederly.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lehman of Fresno; her twin sister, Janice Celuch of Newcomerstown and a sister-in-law, Peggy Ott of Baltic.
JoAnn is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marie Morckel, Mardell Lahmers, Bessie (Wayne) Bissell, Audrey Green and her companion, Solomon Eicher, and Erma Lehman; her brothers-in-law, Roger (Janice) Lehman, Chester (Cathy) Lehman and Ervin Swartzentruber, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; a brother, Adrian Ott; a brother-in-law, Paul Celuch; a niece, Cathy Robinson; a nephew, Paul Celuch Jr; a sister-in-law, Peggy Swartzentruber and brothers-in-law, Paul Morckel, Ralph Lahmers, Robert, Dale, Charles and Donald Lehman.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Stone Creek Cemetery with Rev. Jim Henniger officiating.
In keeping with JoAnn’s generous spirit, the family asks that instead of monetary contributions, please perform an act of generosity specifically for the elderly.
JoAnn’s family would also like to thank the staff at Lafayette Pointe for their kindness, care and compassion during her final days of her life.
