Joann Clagg-Locker

JoAnn Clagg-Locker, 49, of Midvale, O., died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Union Hospital in Dover.A daughter of Denton and the late Erma Hunter Clagg, JoAnn was born September 12, 1956, in Dover, Ohio.She was a 1975 graduate of Indian Valley North High School and a graduate of Kent State University. She had been employed at Starlite School where she enjoyed teaching and spending valuable time with the students for 24 years until disability forced her retirement.JoAnn was a former Midvale village councilwoman, she enjoyed spending time with the neighborhood children who often congregated on her porch for treats and she especially loved animals.She is survived by her husband, Michael S. Locker, whom she married on October 31, 1996; her father, Denton Clagg, of Midvale; a special uncle, Alan Hunter and his family, of Barnhill; her mother-in-law, Maxine Locker, of New Philadelphia; special aunts, cousins and friends.JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother and her beloved golden retriever, Brady.In accordance with JoAnn’s wishes her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Friday June 30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia, with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service, from 1:00pm till 2:00 p.m. A memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center adjacent to the funeral home following the service.Memorial contributions in memory of JoAnn may be made to the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound, 441 University Dr. NE New Philadelphia, OH 44663 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
