Joan Gibson

Joan Marie Akins Fellows Gibson, 60, of Uhrichsville, died Friday, March 30, 2018 in Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.

A daughter of Thomas M. and Joan C. (Coomes) Akins Sr., Joan was born January 26, 1958 at Akron, Ohio.

Joan was a gifted artist and she would often make sketches of others, whether she knew them or not, and then give them the sketch as a gift. She also had a love for animals and was especially fond of horses.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Gibson Jr.; three children, Jesse Fellows, John Fellows and James Fellows; a step-son, Russell Gibson; her siblings, John Akins, Thomas Akins Jr., Tracy Akins, Troy Akins, Timothy Akins and Jann Akins; her father-in-law, John T. Gibson Sr.; a sister-in-law, Martha Buss; and many other extended family members.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will conduct a memorial service on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the First Presbyterian Church at Uhrichsville with Rev. Mark Unrue and Rev. Milo Baker officiating.
