Joan Booth, 80, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday morning, September 9, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio following a brief illness.A daughter of the late Earl and Priscilla (Bean) Golder, Joan was born August 10, 1927 at Barnhill, Ohio.She was a 1945 graduate of Midvale High School. Joan was a homemaker who made certain that her family was well taken care of. She enjoyed sporting events and she attended many volleyball matches and softball games. But most of all, she was proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Joan is survived by her children, Priscilla (William) Hibbs of Bolivar, Tom (Chris) Booth of Woodbridge, Virginia, Beccie Booth of New Philadelphia and Jennifer (Stephen) Palombo of North Canton; grandchildren, Beth Hibbs, Emily (Doug) Crilley, Kyle (Sabrina), Nathan, and Brad Booth and Stephen and Abigail Palombo; great grandchildren, Grace and Will Crilley and Maddison Gressett; a brother, Ed (Wanda) Golder of New Philadelphia; a sister, Jane (Dave) Daley of New Philadelphia; sisters-in-law, Mary Durbin of New Philadelphia, Donna Booth of Tuscarawas and Ida Mae Booth of Sherrodsville and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Smitley of Dennison and Allen Kinsey of New Philadelphia.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Samuel Booth, Jr. who passed away on August 29, 2001.Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Joan’s life will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Elder Rose Lomax officiating. Burial will be along side her husband in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to the Midvale Lions Club, P.O.
