Jim Owens

Jim Owens, 79, of Park Village Health Care at Dover and formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 following a lengthy period of declining health.

A son of the late Austin and Lulla (Hillen) Owens, Jim was born April 5, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio. Jim graduated from South High School at Springfield in 1960.

On June 30, 1972, he married the former Cindy Reeder and they raised two sons, Jason and Jarrod. Jim and Cindy attended Northside Church of God at Springfield.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his two sons, Jason (Miranda) Owens of Beaumont, California and Jarrod (Laura Hower) Owens of Springfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, Narik and Lilly Rameriz; a sister, Joan (Lowell) Ross and a brother, Carl (Kim) Owens both of South Charleston, Ohio.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Fred, Austin, Donna Jean, Eileen, Donald, Charles and Rita.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
