Jerry T. Hixenbaugh

Jerry T. Hixenbaugh, 50, of Newcomerstown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his farm.

A son of the late Ray and Dorothy (Pringle) Hixenbaugh, Jerry was born May 19, 1962 at Dover, Ohio.

Jerry graduated from Dover High School and Buckeye Career Center in 1980 and was presently employed at Dover Chemical.

On August 19, 1989, Jerry married the love of his life, the former Patricia Hughes and together the couple raised two children, Todd and Brittany.

He attended New Pointe Community Church at Dover and he enjoyed tending to his mini-farm. Jerry would often be found “tinkering” with various projects and fixing or building many things around the farm. He also enjoyed tractors, riding motorcycles and collecting antiques. Jerry’s greatest passion in life however was his wife and children and taking care of them.

Surviving is his wife, Patty and children, Todd and Brittany all of the home; his siblings, Joyce Peters and Judy (Wayne) Thomas both of Dover, Shirdon (Paula) Hixenbaugh of New Philadelphia and Pam (Dean) Lautzenheiser of Strasburg and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Houdeshelt officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery.
