Jerry Phillips

Jerry Lee Phillips, 74, of New Philadelphia, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 in Union Hospital at Dover.Born April 25, 1931 in Dover, Ohio, Jerry was the son of the late Lelind Joseph and Flora (Murphy) Phillips.After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Jerry continued his formal education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio graduating with an accounting degree. He spent his professional career working for General Electric. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia.In addition to his wife, Lola Catherine (McGrew) Phillips of 53 years, he is survived by six children; Deborah Robb and Laura Cox, both of Missouri, Jerry M. Phillips of Dallas, TX, Gregory A. Phillips of New York, William J. (Sharon) Phillips and David L. (Wendy) Phillips, both of Missouri; six grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Daisy McGrew of Beesville, TX.He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James Ballard Phillips.Visitation will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, December 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. Those attending the mass are requested to meet at the church.
