Jerry Keith Noakes

Jerry Keith Noakes, 75, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover.A son of the late Glenn and Ruby (Burkey) Lee Robinson, Jerry was born January 6, 1935 at Carrolton, Ohio.Jerry was raised in New Philadelphia and relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he worked for Airport Limousine. He then returned to New Philadelphia to start his own business, The Dover/New Phila Cab Company. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. When he wasn’t working or telling jokes, Jerry could often be found at area lakes fishing.Surviving is his sister, Janet Wilson of New Philadelphia; his nieces, Julia (Rich) Deibel of Strasburg and Jeannine (Chuck) Gentry of New Philadelphia; a nephew, Ronald Wilson of New Philadelphia; two great nieces, Samantha (Jason) Reed of Zoarville and Jodie Deibel of Strasburg; a great nephew, Danny Wilson of New Philadelphia; two great-great nephews, Gavin and Dylan Reed of Zoarville and many friends both locally and in Pennsylvania.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Daniel Wilson, Jr.The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
