Jerry C. Gatschet

Jerry C. Gatschet, 79, of Dover, passed away in the Community Hospice Truman House on Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Born in Canton on December 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Byron Eugene and Dortha (Haines) Gatschet.

After completing his formal education he worked as a truck driver for 30 years with Ray Molder Corp in Canton. He was also a member of the Teamsters Retiree Club and AARP.

On August 23, 1980, he married the former Della M. Sarver, of Dover. His family also includes his children, Delores (John) Herrera of Canton, Dale Gatschet of Columbus, Beverly (Marty) Mariano of Michigan and Becky (Phillip) Pratt of Columbus; his step-children, Roy (Lenuta) Boggs of Parma, Bernie Boggs of Florida, Mark (Julia) Boggs of South Carolina, and Della Black of Dover; numerous grandchildren; and his brother, Norman (Carolyn) Gatschet of East Canton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, Eugene.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Wednesday from 11 to 1 p.m. A service celebrating Jerry’s life will begin at 1 p.m.
