Jerry A. Bergquist

Jerry A. Bergquist, of New Philadelphia died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2011 while celebrating his 71st birthday.A son of Florence and Arthur Crilley of Dover and the late Inar Bergquist, Jerry was born in the family home at Dover on January 27, 1940.He attended Dover City Schools and went on to work as an auto body technician for a number of dealerships for more than 30 years and ultimately retired from the former Perma-Glass Mesh at Dover.In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed golfing and later found great joy in spending time entertaining his grandchildren and relaxing at home. He also enjoyed time spent with friends and sharing stories with others as a social member of the former Dover VFW.Jerry will long be remembered by his family which includes his wife whom he has shared the last 33 years of his life, the former Helen Bechtel; two daughters, Heather (Lee) Smith of Dover and Sarah Bergquist of the home; two sons, Jason (Nikki) Bergquist of New Philadelphia and Vance (Maudie) Wiles of Beach City. Nine grandchildren complete the family.The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31, 2011, from 2:00 â?? 4:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation will follow.Those wishing to make contributions in Jerry’s name may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
