Jeremy Matthew Gintz, age 31 of Leesburg, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in his home.

A son of Andy and Patty (Thompson) Gintz of, Dover Jeremy was born at Barberton, Ohio on March 6, 1982.

Jeremy was always one to love life and enjoy it to the fullest. At a young age, Jeremy was usually found spending time with his friends riding a dirt bike or a bicycle. His love for Motocross Sports is what took him to Georgia. While living in the South, Jeremy quickly fell in love with the area and soon met the former Amy Morris.

The couple wed in Barbados on June 27, 2009, and have a beautiful two and a half year old daughter, Sailor Grey Gintz. Jeremy was an amazing father and husband who was adored by his family.

Jeremy was a fan of all sports but was particularly partial to those played by the Ohio State Buckeyes. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the occasional round of golf.

On April 18, 2008, Jeremy began working for Federal Express Ground Corporation of Albany, Georgia and worked his way up to P & D Manager. During his tenure with the company Jeremy was recognized with multiple awards including the Five Star Award, the most prestigious honor awarded with in the firm.

In addition to his parents, beloved wife and daughter, Jeremy is survived by two brothers Joshua (Kelly) Gintz and Jordan (Andrea) Gintz; grandparents, David and Shirley Thompson all of Dover; his mother-in-law, Patsy Morris and sister-in-law, Mary (Larry) Ulmer all of Cairo, Georgia. Completing the family are numerous aunts uncles and cousins.

A casual gathering celebrating Jeremy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. The family is collecting memories and short stories to build a memory book for his daughter, Sailor. In doing so, the family asks you bring such pieces to the gathering or take an opportunity to share by leaving a personal message on Jeremy’s memorial page located on the funeral home’s website.

Services were held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the Midway Baptist Church at Cairo Georgia with burial taking place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Whigham, Georgia.
