JENNY L. MYERS, 54, of Sugarcreek, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, June 15, 2003. She was born in Dover on June 27, 1948 to John M. Newell and Eva J. Teter Newell Spittle. Jenny graduated from Strasburg High School in 1967. On August 17, 1968 she married her high school sweetheart, Perry L. Myers. Together, Jenny and Perry became active members of Union Hill United Methodist Church. Jenny also taught Sunday school for more than twenty years. Jenny had also been a 4-H Club advisor for several years. She enjoyed flower gardening as well as sewing, crocheting and other craftwork. With Perry, Jenny liked collecting Longeberger baskets. A collection of Jenny’s memories and life were recently published in her book, “Jenny’s Family Treasures Cookbook”, which was a dream-come-true for her. Of her many interests, Jenny loved being with her family, particularly her grandkids, more than anything. Jenny and Perry raised three children, Bunny Sue (Tim) Sheehy of New Philadelphia, Butch (Cindy) Myers of Strasburg, and Buffy (Travis) Hostetler of Sugarcreek. Jenny is survived by her grandchildren, Tyler Sheehy and Geddy Gray, Luke and Abby Myers, Tristian, Hunter and Cody Hostetler; parents, John Newell of Bowerston and Eva Spittle of New Philadelphia; sisters Marlynn (Jerry) Hoffman of New Philadelphia, Glenna Devine of Toledo and Lori Spittle and her fiancé, Terry Gears, of New Philadelphia; brothers, Rex (Tina) Neiger of PA, Jon (Linda) Newell of Mineral City, Gene (Sue) Spittle of Wooster, Bob (Keddi) Spittle of Stone Creek and Kevin Spittle of New Philadelphia; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jenny was preceded in death by her step-mother and step-father, Marilyn Newell and Charlie Spittle, her nephew, Michael Hoffman, her father-in-law, Buzz Myers, and Grandma Newell. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Union Hill United Methodist Church, 7877 Union Hill Rd., NW, Sugarcreek, with the pastor, Rev. Carl Kandel, officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery. Following the cemetery committal everyone is invited to share in a meal at the church.
