Jennie Ann Sewell, age 88, of Dover died early Friday, November 16, 2007, in the home she has resided in for nearly sixty years. Born at Roswell February 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Nick and Florence Marchione Liberatore. Jennie attended school at New Philadelphia and grew up in a large household, where she learned the value of placing care and attention of her family above all else. All her life, Jennie could be found enjoying the company of her family and friends. She was a conversationalist at heart, and delighted in keeping up on the happenings of her loved ones. Above all, Jennie was a caregiver who delighted in cooking and crocheting, then sharing the fruits of her talents with those around her. Friends and family couldn’t leave her company without being given a care package, or fresh pie on their way out the door. On September 16, 1941, Jennie married Kenneth D. Sewell. Together they reared a family that includes her daughter, Karen Stokey of Dover, and son Tim (wife Debbie) Sewell of Baltic. Both credit their mother with instilling in them the importance of sharing with others. She’ll be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Mark (wife Natalie) Stokey of Dover, and Nathan (special friend Laurel Chumney) also of Dover, and Nicole Sewell, a student at Kent State University, and Amber Sewell, a student at The Ohio State University. A sister, Regina Sligar of Las Vegas, Nevada, three brothers, Tony ( wife Louise) Liberatore of High Point, North Carolina, John (wife Phyllis) Liberatore of New Philadelphia, Dominic (wife Beatty) Liberatore of LaPorte, Indiana, and a sister-in-law, Eileen Liberatore of New Philadelphia, completes the family. In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, Kenneth D. Sewell on March 31, 1984, her son-in-law, Tim Stokey, in 2005, three brothers, Albert and Corden Liberatore and Eugene Libertore, and sisters Rose Arpino and Elizabeth Liberatore, who died in infancy. The family will receive guests Sunday afternoon from 2-4 and from 6-8PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Father William Arnold will lead Christian wake services at 8:15 Sunday evening. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:30 in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover.
