Jeffrey Robert Thrush, 53, of Indianapolis, IN., formerly of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had resided in Indianapolis for the past 16 years. A son of, Samuel Robert and Mary Lou Thrush, of Tuscarawas, Jeff was born June 4, 1952.He was a 1970 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, attended Kent State University, in Kent, Ohio where he majored in political science, and was employed by the Center Township Assessors Office in Indiana.Jeff earned his private pilot’s license at age 16 and was an avid pilot. He also was active with the Democratic Party.He is survived by his parents; a son, Samuel Charles Thrush, of New Philadelphia; a brother, Gregory and his wife Barbara Thrush, of Bolivar; and several cousins though out the country, including Sharon Boothby and Ronnie Yelton, both of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews, including David and Mary Anne Zimmerman, of Canton; and various aunts and uncles, including Jim and Carolyn Thompson, of Las Vegas, NV,Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2005, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory chapel in New Philadelphia. A service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation by Rev. Mike Seely, of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association of Marion County, 2506 Willowbrook Parkway, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46205.
